Tribal jewellery is traditionally crafted of animal bones, teeth, stones, semi-precious stones, shells, wood and even dried berries or seeds.  Most tribal jewellery consists of abstract designs and concentric circles and spirals are quite common.

 

Worn not merely as adornment, traditional tribal jewellery always carries some significance, often depicting deities or items and carvings believed to appease them.  Many talismans, charms, and amulets are worn by tribal people to ward off evil and bring about prosperity.  Traditional tribal jewellery is almost always symbolic of material wealth.
