Since antiquity, Carnelian has been known as a stone of motivation and endurance, leadership and courage, and was worn by ancient warriors for courage and power.

 

Traditionally, Carnelian is worn to enhance passion, love, and desire.  The orange crystals in particular represent fertility.  It is believed that Carnelian aids in rekindling passions that might have faded in otherwise loving relationships.
